Why Living Healthy Is Considered “Extreme”
We live in a world where prioritising health is seen as “extreme,” yet living in a state of constant fatigue, relying on multiple medications, and fuelling our bodies with processed foods is widely accepted as “normal.”
It’s time to flip it and if taking control of your well-being is considered radical, then let’s embrace the so-called “extreme lifestyle”.
When “Normal” Is Actually the Problem
Think about what society sees as acceptable:
- Chronic Fatigue
- Multiple Medications
- Excessive Drinking
- Processed Foods
- High Blood Pressure and Other Preventable Conditions
Now, look at what’s often considered “too much’ or ‘extreme”:
- Daily Fitness – Moving your body every day is “obsessive.”
- Intermittent Fasting – Choosing when and how you eat is “extreme.”
- Whole Food Diet – Avoiding processed junk in favour of real food is “too restrictive.”
- Proper Bedtime – Prioritising sleep is “boring.”
- Sobriety – Choosing not to drink is often met with confusion or resistance.
In my humble opinion as a society, we have normalised poor health and labelled healthy habits as over-the-top.
But is “Extreme” Health Is the Key to Freedom
The reality is that these “extreme” choices create a life of energy, vitality, and strength. When you commit to regular exercise, nourishing your body, and optimising recovery, you don’t just live—you thrive. You don’t need to rely on medications to function, struggle through the day exhausted, or feel trapped in an unhealthy cycle.
If taking care of yourself is extreme, then be extreme. If prioritising longevity, strength, and resilience makes you an outlier, wear that badge with pride.
